When depression laugh in my ears
Pain and suffering awaits me
I take a walk along the sandy beach
The purple brightness at the horizon
which appears when the sun
takes a deep dip in the sea
make my mind relaxed from the weary thoughts
When the sea looks calm
with its fairy wings spread aside
I feel, I am safe at the lap of the sea
And I am too far from this filthy world.
when the glittering stars appear on the sky
showering its light on the sea top
and the sea starts to throw its magnificent
silver flesh, blue like heavenly lace
to swallow the stars above,
my heart throbs with joy
when the waves lapping gently against the shore
and giggles my feet with its soft feathers
I feel a spark spreads within me
to fill my nerves with a new spirit
The wind which blows with all its might
take my hair across my face
and make me feel that I am held and cradled
in the lap of my loving mother.
The seagull diving in the deep blue depth
whisper in my ears
put your burden down and come to me.
with a free mind and body
let me go back to my own shelter.

a wonderful poem dear Ammu…….i read and re-read to grasp the feeling of tranquility, the calmness you must have felt after penning down this wonderful expressions…….yes since time immemorial sea with its vastness has always been an inspiration for us humans and when you stand near it, its greatness its vastness has a soothing effect on our wandering mind, soothes something within and no matter how disturbed or troubled we are, the sea makes us calm but amazingly the sea is never calm…..lovely poem…..loved each bit of it…….

Penned beautifully, Ammu. The tranquility of the sea is really brought out perfectly.

A lovely poem full of joy and laughter, serenity and sadness. I like the image of the waves spreading their wings and then giggling at her feet.
