Must I Endure?

Must I Endure? short poem

What should you do
when people bother you?
not react?
not notice?
not speak?
just endure?????

It is easier said than done
When they stare in your face
When their auras are dark
and they eat up your space

When their entire existence
is validated by your negative reaction
They do all that they can
to bring you down to their section

Yes, they may teach you patience
tolerance, even self preservation
but, they suck out your happiness
and put you in a terrible position

It is the worst fate to be
surrounded by such people
Even the Buddhas of this world
did not find it so simple

They could not seek salvation
surrounded by meanness and negative attitudes
They distanced themselves
and sought complete solitude

I think it is the sensitive ones
Who bear the brunt
because their feelings are heightened
and each taunt hurts

So,next time someone says
“You must endure”
Take a stand for yourself
you don’t have to hear them for sure
