A Pleasant Pain

You looked at me
I looked at you
you turned your face
But I didn’t

You made no promise
I made a lot
You smiled at my tears
I shared your suffering

You pushed me to darkness
I picked you when you fell
You wanted me to fail
I dreamed only of your success

You hated me a lot
I loved you a lot
You wished I would die
I prayed for your life

Why such a difference
in our desires?
Why such an indifference
to my love?

Though I know
nothing I will gain
Till the end
It will remain a pleasant pain!
