Some Moments

Rains- smells
Of dampness and chill, mother’s crispies, grandma’s tea
Of coming home, all wet and cold, little pools flooding the floor
Of dosas on the stove, day-darkness, drying clothes,
A thunder bolt from the darkened skies,
Wet feathers and blinking wet eyes,
Wet grass, swaying tree tops, wet brown branches, shaking leaves, wet white buds, flowers,….
Wish those days came back to me!
Just once, for a little while.
………………………………………………………………………

My road’s clear
I dread though
No breaks
No mist
Or dark pathways
No fellow traveller
My stomach churns
Where does it end?!
It is just the sky and me
And the road
Growing….
……………………………………………………..
Dear sun,
Reduce a bit,
It’s biting me dry.
With little water
Drooping leaves
And dreams,
How do I stand?
Or smile?
Any way
One day
I have to die.
Why now
First?
…………………………………..

This evening
It was a tsunami
The earth beneath
Shattered.
Waters can do this!
This quiet stillness
After
Crawls.
My children,
Leave it
Do not despair
Nature is defeating
Bleeding
And tears
They get washed away too.
………………………………….

Every day
I die and die and die
A hundred times
Moments pass
Yet,
There is this dream
A hope
Things will be new today!
………………………………………………….

No gifts no chocolates
Today
No fun-packed holidays
Too.
A little calm will do.
Mid sea
Is,
After the first rush,
A sigh of relief.
Calm and peace
Is all I ask
To float a bit
Before we drown.
……………………………………….

Let this moment stay
Unmoving
Arrested
This ocean of love
Limitless
Let this beautiful moment stay
Unharmed
Protected
Like a baby
In my arms
Let this stay
Beyond time
Infinite
This space
Beyond words
Expansive
This moment
Let this stay and stay and stay
