An Ode To Love

An Ode To Love short poem

Uploaded by Ayndrilla Ghosh

Sweet and attractive, you are like candy to a five year old.
Little does a kid know you can give aches hard and cold.
Like a sunny day you seem to make everything bright and beautiful.
And then it burns when you slowly lose your cool.
You can’t be ignored.
And once accepted you might give wounds like that of a sword.
Yes, nothing comes free of cost,
But isn’t it too much if everything is lost?
In the end if all that remains is pain,
then to pursue you is vain.
Very rarely do you remain painless.
And when you do you are indeed ageless.
I tried, I fought.
It’s you I sought.
And when I almost had you,
Turned out I ain’t among the lucky few.
A concoction of smiles and tears and pain and insult,
Love, indeed thou art difficult!!!

A marble, jostling among the congregation says: I am not so obsolete But am impelled to be desolate For, the ultimate cause of humanity Perished in its serendipity. Defiance and vengeance and malevolence Thrived in conquering this vicinity But humanity-succumbed
