Priceless moment of life – MOM

Priceless moment of life MOM prose poem

The dam of tears broke
My hands trembled.
A wave of euphoria engulfed me
as I stretched my arms to hold you
You were a blessing, a promise to me
A promise, of hope and strength
and everything I could ever need
as a reason to continue to live
You unshackled me of loneliness,
turning me into the most beautiful being I could ever be
Filling my heart with
the new-found immense power
of Love and Care
Like these were never before there
I did not have to read or memorize,
the promises just came to my mind
like a silent prayer
Yes I too took another birth for sure
when I gave birth to you
But the reason was not the pain nor the struggle
but because the world was gifted to me again
but this time with the most beautiful view

Writers note:- The best gift we could ever give our mom is to understand and respect her and all that she has been through to raise us.
When a wife becomes a mother sometimes the whole concept of love and care changes for her that’s why the term “New-found”
Promises made while marrying are memorized and the society witnesses it but a mother too makes a silent promise which comes straight from her heart.
When a person is born the world is gifted to him/her
This poem is dedicated to my beloved mom and especially all the single moms.

@felixfreethesoul I was tongue-tied when I read this. Heartwarming. I haven’t seen my real mother for almost 28 years, that’s why it truly hits me! Thank you for this poem!
