I am consumed with leaving
one foot in the door
and a portion of my brain
the size of a doubled walnut
begins to perform calculations
how long a stay means eagerness
how long obligation
how long politeness
how long an insult
that while noticeable
will not be considered unforegiveable
maybe I’ll come up with a phantom
appointment or one of those gradeschool
ailments everyone can relate to
like an unquenchable nosebleed
(handled offstage in the lavatory
blocking everyone else’s full bladder)
or the green apple quickstep
(again in the bathroom
but this time with sound effects –
how long I’ve practiced those groans
muffled and wrung out
of my normally stoic disposition)
then again I could find a corner
or the end of a couch to shadow
dare someone to come near me
swap a few words and prove
that I have nothing to say
I am not worth knowing well
that they can give me no more thought
just another guy in the corner
smiling with a drink in his hand

Let Me Die Alone In Deep short poem

Let me die alone in deep, Perhaps, I may take a breath, Don’t see me with hate and hope, Perhaps, I may live. Since, thee don’t know my pains, So, have not a jot of rains, I have a lot
