The Picture On The Wall

The Picture On The Wall short poem

There is a picture on the wall,
With some people hanging around
Each smiling and laughing
Enjoying and having the time of their lives

Each wearing their own costumes,
Each with their own colours
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Yellow,
Green, Blue, Violet and Indigo

Each having a style of dressing
Some wearing ancient ball gowns
Some wearing costumes of pirates,
Or clowns or animals ; all alike

They all look different and unique,
In their own ways.
But, you know that they are together
They are a family

There is a picture on the wall,
With some people inside
Each smiling and laughing
Enjoying and having the time of their lives

They all are on the green lush grass
As soft as fur, they all sit together
On the grass,
Playing an eating, together

They laugh together,
They eat together and they smile with each other
They help each other when they are down
This picture says it all

Behind, in the background,
Boys are at play…
They are playing with a soccer ball,
And the girls there are laughing along.

There is a picture on the wall,
With some people inside
Each smiling and laughing
Enjoying and having the time of their lives

I look back at the picture,
what do I see?
I see myself there in the background,
being happy with my family.
