I Fly In Flames

I Fly In Flames short poem

My wings fly with flaming heart,
soaring high in the sky but in utter vain.
Like sunshine in the rain, but
burnt and charred, it so hurts.

Delving into the same old refuge,
filled with solitude in a world full
of light, but the showers dark deluge.
as dark as this day, I am bulled.

And so, I am sunken into this hole
caving in to feelings unfelt.
As my wings fly high and soar,
in pain, I only melt and only melt.

My angel rises in defeat, but
this time, she is lost in this brunt!
Like a sunshine in the rain, but
burnt and charred, it so hurts!

I am currently a Doctorate in Linguistics from North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong, Meghalaya (India). I was born on 2nd November, 1983 in my hometown, Haflong, in Assam (India). Haflong is in the lap of nature and the beautiful Barail mountains have always inspired me to dream and write. I wrote my first poem 'roses' when I was 10 years old though I lost that piece as a young child. I have been writing several poems since then as a young girl and a confused teenager, but very few though more meaningful ones, as of now. Shillong with its scenic beauty keeps me engrossed with photography, fun with friends, social activities and a little time for poetry amidst the hectic research schedules. My poetry themes vary from nature to ambitions, from self questions to relationships. My other favorite pastimes include, writing short stories and quotations, trekking, shopping, sketching, travel and many others. I do not know what future brings in, with poetry for me, but it's something I love doing when I'm best left with, all by myself and my world of emotions.

The state of our minds today. Soaring to new heights yet burning ourselves out, what is the end game? Who wins?

Fly – Flight – An Ode To Birds

Fly Flight An Ode To Birds long poem

Birds levitate and are airborne, Flapping wings soaring to the highest stratosphere, Flying into the blue yonder, Over snowcapped mountains, abutting the clouds, Flying, gliding, landing, so sublime Perching themselves in the tiny gap between other birds on a cable

I Believe I Can Fly

I Believe I Can Fly short poem

I’ve got many obstacles in my life, but I’ll never give up. Once when I planned to fly, I thought that I will reach high but I just got a chance to try. I ignored it as my first attempt.
