Searching... short poem

I bend
To pick up the pieces
Pieces of me lying on the ground
But when I bend
I don’t know me
Just frivolous petals scattered around

I reach
To gather up the bits
Bits of me that have flown
But when I reach
I don’t find me
Just flippant leaves the wind has blown

I look
To fit in the fragments
Fragments of me that have gone
But when I look
I don’t see me
Just a fanciful bird without a song
