Depression

Depression short poem

Hope burns bright…lighting the way through the darkness…it vanishes…dreams of tomorrow, torn away…walls crumble…and he who dwells amongst the shadows…strikes without warning…his poison fills me…corrupting my body, my mind, my soul…forced to suffer…a captive made…chained, forever cursed…my nightmare, a twisted reality…just another world inside of me…I’m lost…always surrounded, but yet still alone…threatening to break me…I barely hold on…my heart slows down…the demons inside pull me under…I’m drowning…voices call to me…I know there’s light, but I can’t find it…why should I be afraid?…death is not the worst thing in life…is it?…thought I pray…and he answers…my savior…my salvation…the darkness dispels…though never truly gone…patiently waiting to strike again…
