Deception short poem

I started to write about Love
Thought I’d found that special One
It’s been a week since we first met
Now I write about my heart bereft

I knew from the start, this wasn’t meant to be
So many reasons to steer away from thee
Didn’t listen to the voice or the logical mind
Just followed my heart, believing Love is blind

I poured out my heart, didn’t hold back
You listened patiently, you didn’t react
I was careful though, cautiously I tread
My lessons of the past, made me think with my head

I was convinced that I had seen it all
Till you revealed the truth and I took a call
Never again shall I act on my emotion
My heart is fragile, it can’t take another Deception

Simplicity always strikes a chord in the heart of the reader and you have that power in your writing style @Savio_Fernandes ..Heartbreak caused by Deception portrayed sans any drama..Nice!
