The Swing

Come swing with me,
To the blue yonder so free.
We sit on the clouds by day,
Hangout with the stars by night!

Come swing with me,
Up to the rainbow bridge.
Of glorious colors-
And slide from one end to the other!

Come swing with me,
When you feel blue and teary.
Let the wind take your sadness,
Till your heart fills with gladness!

Poet’s Note:
A swing brings back sweet childhood memories. The feeling of “flying” like a bird and the exhilarating feeling of the wind against the face, are forever etched in our memories.

From young, I have a love for the English Language and have been a voracious reader of novels, getting my fill from the British Council and later at the U.S.I.S. Clearly the writing style of UK and American authors is different. It is only about three years ago that I ventured into the world of poetry, and starting to pen my own poems. I find it gratifying and fulfilling to have an opportunity to put my thoughts, feelings and emotions into poems and haiku.

Scarlet Swing

Scarlet Swing short poem

A sweet child, an innocent creature Or sheep skin hiding a terrible monster Her true nature none knew She was loved by too few Crimson drops dotted the floor Tracing her path out of the door Barefoot in the grass,

The Swing

The Swing long poem

You’ve never starved yourself you’ll never be a runway model and for a time that made you sad never to be like an Amazon – though you found out they burnt off their right breast to make archery easier –
