The Rethink

The Rethink short poem

From chronic sort tedium
must rise above to explore

Life beyond old drudgery
since long not felt before

While in indulgent misery
the core had twisted askew

Time to rid of past clutter
to rewrite lost verve anew

Dump affecting baggage
all sensibility from life eject

Just let in what’s conducive
and futility blatantly reject

Far too short is a window
to brood over any grudge

With most irritants overcome
blissful turns rest of trudge

All destined and yearned for
do coincide once contrived

Attempt must be in earnest
to beget what’s truly desired

Dream afresh all aspirations
new purpose thence assign

Upshot will turn astounding
and with expectations align

I loved this optimistic forward looking poem. A joy to read
and giving myself a nudge too.
