Dreaming For Equality

One man went to bed late last night
while the moon shone hopeful and so bright.
He woke up with a dream fresh in his mind,
a dream of people who lived to be kind.

His dream was full of different people,
like fish in a sea ever so peaceful.
Some were black and some were white,
but everyone thought that was alright.

Each race was kind to one another
no matter their hair, eye, or skin color.
They walked with each other hand in hand,
as joyful as Christians in the promised land.

When this man woke up from his beautiful dream,
he saw what he then needed to see.
He heard the freedom bells begin to ring,
for this man was the great Martin Luther King.
