The Damaged Heart

The Damaged Heart short poem

What shall I do?
However hard I try,
her memory of bygone days,
I am unable to erase.

The truth is that the mark she has left on my heart
has now melted and formed a hole.

Though I continue to breath with difficulty,
I am not sure how long my damage heart can go on beating.

I can only dream of her coming back to me to plug the hole
and take me along to the heavenly abode.

Till then I have no alternative than to stick on to my life partner,
who has given me life and partnered me in times of sorrow and crisis.

Don’t blame me for the injustice I have done to her,
with a damaged heart, I am heartless and helpless.

nice poem……….no the love never damages the heart……your heart is so full of love for your family children, grandchildren friends and people who follow your poems that there is no space for a hole to create itself………….love occupies each and every inch of your heart………… dont worry your heart is safe and sound Ramapriya ji…………
and you did no injustice to your loving wife, you never took love from her to give to another, there is enough love in human heart to share………..
wonderful poem………..loved it…….
