Petrichor

You’re lingering when the rain falls
after a spell of dry that calls
Give me the sweet scents
when you hit the ground
just like those scenes tied me around

You’re the only memory that I can remember
when my ears hear the sounds of wind
from the wood of amber
The prayer of water plays the string
from my heart like guitar’s howling

So I’m thinking of my thinking that
the one that I love,

the one that I miss
is YOU

And I’m thinking of my thinking that
the one that shouldn’t go,

the one that shouldn’t leave
is YOU

Absolutely YOU

Indelible Petrichor

Indelible Petrichor short poem

Grey billow of clouds So hopeful these are Filled with watery pearls Guaranteeing remedial shower Flashes of light Sounds of accosting thunder Declares to the dead world Charging to live the real wonder Season’s first kiss Between rain and earth

Petrichor short poem

The call came into my blood through a darkening on a hot morning rumble of traffic cleared like a party when everyone stops talking that first deep cough came a long way that glint could have been sun on chrome
