Under The Shade Of A Banyan Tree

Under The Shade Of A Banyan Tree short poem

Bright Rays from you ..Still Touch us like that from the Sun,

In midst of life’s fierce Run,

You held my hand ,when even my fingers stank and sored

Wish of Building a Castle..yet my paper dreams were erased and torn

Drenched in Rain ..Thyself ..But not a drop touched my body…

Your Ingenuous Shadow squeezed my mind…..your Grit shaped my soul…..

“Sanctum –Sanctorum”– I might not find the Divine Supremos…

LEST !! Your Eye Blink is more sacred than the unravelled Those..

I am a misery borrower, who can’t repay his debts..

But with every Sunrise….. A Promise I make to thou…

That with every Sunset …..A reflection thy shall see…

Your Grit…..Your Sacrifice ….Your Emotional Magnanimity….. It will be…

Strive I will………… “NO NOT” bow until…..

To Lead… To Follow

A Religion that of a Man of Purpose

An Allegiance that of a Man of Honour

The Rebel like a Man of Might

A Promise I make…and A Promise I will keep…

You nurtured a plant …watered it so deep…

A Meaning … A Purpose what we want to be …

You Let Us…Let our dreams free…

Felt like the calmness…as Under the shades of the Old Banyan Tree..

Poet’s Note:
An orphan named Xoon(Gold in Assamese)  emotes about the man who raised him, a man who allowed him to use the feeling “ Ohh    Deuta !!” (Ohh  Father !!).
