The Apnea Of Superman

The Apnea Of Superman short poem

THE Man thought in the dark…
of mass derailments
of bank assailants
of pleading beggars’ eyes
of polished politicians’ lies
of toxic chemical dumps
of reclusive addicts’ slump
of repulsive battle sounds
of trampled sacred grounds

THE Man thought in the dark…
of children’s tender laughter
of weddings ever after
of new medical cures
of green park tours
of dogs and cats
of Ted Williams at bat
of sincere neighborly charity
of rivers showing clarity

THE Man sat at the edge of his bed
and the thoughts did not stop…..
