Mother And Child

The deafening cry of the infant and the tiring but resounding smile of the mother herald the arrival of the little cradle to this mystical world of umpteen wonder

The creaking sound of the child’s crying, suddenly and abruptly ending, with the child suckling & licking at lightening speed the mother’s breast milk, is the beginning of the ever lasting bondage of the Mother and her offspring

The sleepless nights, the endless change of Napkins, the repeated cries of the child ,Gazing the sleeping beauty day and night, the countless breast feeding of the hungry child etc; all make the bond solid and ever lasting.

As the days and months pass the child grows in stature leap and bounds

The sight of the child trying to get up, the child trying to stand erect, the child trying to put its first step forward and finally the child trying to walk and run simultaneously and mother opening both her arms to grab the falling child is all an ever cherishing moments to the mother

Sending the child to play home, hearing the child’s unheard words, dressing up the child etc; mark the first stage of adult Child

Sending the child to higher class, dressing the child in a school uniform, filling the school bag with Text and exercise books ,Pen and pencil, and tiffin box for lunch etc; herald the second stage of the adult child

The Child ceases to be a child as it enters the higher level schooling and hold of the mother on the child gradually slips as the child gets into a sort of complicity in seeking mother’s attention & as such this becomes the third and final stage of the childhood

While the Mother remain the mother, the child turn into the youth and then into adult and finally old

The mother’s Love and bondage remain as solid as ever , but the priorities keep changing for her offspring.

That is why none can replace Mother’s Love and as such she is rightly the GOD

Lovely poem depicting the love the sacrifice and the care a mother does for her child……..right from keeping the child inside her womb for nine months to bringing her child up from an infant to grow to an adult……..a wonderful poem describing the selfless love of a mother………so true the priorities change for the child but a mother remains a mother till her last breath…………….that is why it has been rightly said God cdnt be with everyone so HE sent mothers……..and it is also said a woman is never complete till she becomes a mother……..motherhood is divinity………a wonderful poem …….awesome use of words………superb

Mamaskara Madam. Channakethe. You have elegantly covered every aspect of mothering. What is the most beautiful feeling of life than being a mother! Hats off you Madam.

Totally agree with you…Mother is god on earth:)

A wonderful poem which gives a clear picture of the mother’s sacrifice. True, a mother’s love and bondage remain as solid as ever.

You ask if I believe in God. I think He’s left us all alone like sweaty children in a mall, searching for our mothers. But one glance at your tenderly upturned face, I can only breathe of white angels, gossamer
