A Mother’s Plight

A Mothers Plight short poem

Dear son,
with your world surrounded by arms and guns,
There rests this plight,
to see her son alive with her eyes,
just once.
Sacrificing for country is  your job and your pride,
My pride is you my son.
Wherever you are or will be,
My heart always beats for your well being,
just take care of yourself
that is your mother’s seeking.
Been time I saw you last,
come home soon leaving behind all the jittery past.
No matter what happens your mother is always there,
just give me a sign,
that you are doing fine,
before my life finally resigns.

A touching verse about A Mother’s Plight as she waits for her son to return from war..But @Illahi_Bedi please specify whether you are submitting in the category of prose poem if you send in something that is like a paragraph..for just this once the Editorial Board has changed the format since it was submitted in the category of short poem but we hope adequate care will be taken in the future to conform to the type of poem you specify as your submission.

I read your heartfelt poem and it brought back memories
when my soldier son sent me a letter before he went to war.
He did tell me later all soldiers were advised to send
such letters before they entered a war zone.
Sad all around, but I understood the poem fully.
