Grief

Grief short poem

Let the mourner be
Let the grief burst forth
overflow the barricades
snap the cords asunder
rise from the depths
of the Being
Let the mourner be
Let him throw open
the floodgates of sorrow
weeping is but natural
for every tear drop
that maketh an ocean
its surging arms
fling him on the shore
spent,empty
Let the mourner be
you who on the rim
of the mountaintop
watch nonchalantly
preoccupied
moments of happiness
too busy to reach out
to those who flounder
in the dark valley.

Poet’s Note:
Society has oriented us to withhold our natural emotions as they are regarded as signs of weakness. One has to break from societal barriers to become aware of the suffering and the least one could do is to weep.. that makes us human.

Tears liberate our inner sorrows…so it’s good to break down sometimes…perfectly human…
