I Love…

I Love... short poem

I love…

Paris in the summer, Bombay in the rains
Cotton candy clouds, trees drooping over river bends
Rickety trains, Topsy-turvey roller coasters
Mountain mists, seeing the ocean meet the sky
Rainbows (even without the pot of gold), loud thunder storms
Winding roads to walk around aimlessly
Getting lost, finding the way, meandering off again

I love…

Calamari that’s fried just right, pizzas in piazzas
Freshly baked croissants in the morning, strong filter coffee
Hazelnut ice-cream dripping from a waffle cone
a medium bhel and a teekha pani puri

I love…

Breathtaking views of history standing
Taj Mahal, The Colosseum, Notre-Dame
Humble sights which make you feel oh-so tiny
The Himalayas, The Great Barrier Reef, Grand Canyon

I love…

Twinkling lights cheering, snow flakes fleeting
Times Square, Las Vegas, Piccadilly Circus
Morning walks, sunrise smiles
Impromptu movies, especially on school nights

I love…

Afternoon picnics with wine and cheese
Red-checkered table cloths on meadows green
Ferry boats and fancy yachts
Holding hands surreptitiously
while kissing unabashedly

I am citing every cliche in the book
But what can I do? I love them all
But mostly I love them with you

Missing you…and wondering if you think of me too

You’ve kept my heart’s dynamite aflame You know I can never be the same since your charming kiss did my heart tame. What words can describe your beauty’s fame? No smile can contend with yours’ my dame. It sends sorrow
