An Undergraduate

Thirty five years ago I had dreams galore,
Planning and executing my mini master plans of life ahead,
Moon-eyed and romantic I entered into wedlock,
Holding hands and making promises of undying love, was I
Of half a century weight, prattling away and consistently mischievous,
The impish heart quietly being ruled by passions herculean,
Agile and active the household chores or any such,
Done in a jiffy for many to envy.
Thirty five years later the romance continues,
My love and I sip our morning tea, but the feet enjoy the company of the foot-stool,
The household chores -Oof! Let it be for now,
Before the very plump frame (actually bones have become heavier) runs,
The milk has spilt over; and how we enjoy the overcooked and burny veggie aroma!
Did I hear about being moon-eyed and dreamy? I still am-the heart is still an under graduate!
