A Dollop of Mush

A Dollop of Mush short poem

I don’t need a jerk,
Or a drive in a Merc!

All I need is a cup of tea in the pouring rain,
A few jokes to entertain,
A hearty conversation to gain,
But alas, my requests are taken in vain!

I don’t need no chiselled looks,
Or fancy right hooks,
Or a life with twenty cooks.

All I want is a walk on the beach,
With you within my reach,
Feel the sand under my toes,
And to take life as it goes.

It’s the little things,
The intermittent tring trings,
The simple stuff, with no bling.

A happy face to greet,
Filled with joy every time we meet,
Maybe even on the sidewalk of a street.
