No Excuse

No Excuse prose poem

You can excuse a poisonous snake when it bites
because it is afraid you might strike first

You can excuse a thief
if he has no other means to earn

You can excuse a woman driven to prostitution
because of utter poverty and family responsibility

You can even pardon a hard core murderer
who has done the crime out of unfortunate circumstances

You can excuse a misguided / illiterate terrorist
because he knows not what he is doing

So called educated who thinks highly of his cast/language and creed and treats others with contempt and scant respect and forms coterie of his own caste/group, can never be excused because such persons are a blot to civilized society and are certainly poisonous to human race.

Ramapriya ji, yes totally agree with you, whenever i see a criminal or a beggar or a thief or the so called fallen woman, in my heart of heart i feel pity for them, knowing they must have taken this road when they had no other option left with them, no one is born with such characters, but the so called educated people, the newly rich people, in whose roots corruption has become deep rooted, look upon others with so much contempt excepting their own coterie, are the biggest enemy of our society……..a very thought provoking poem ………

No excuse for the educated who cannot think…very powerful thought, especially in today’s world!

Rightly so.. There is no excuse. Knowingly committed crimes deserve the worst punishment.
