Having To Live Without Him

Having To Live Without Him long poem

I have a feeling I cannot resist.
I feel as if there is an angel in our midst.
What will he do and say?
Will he make himself known today?

Many a prayer I have spoken.
I told the Lord how I feel so broken.
I have fallen in despair.
I wonder does he even care.

He has taken the one who made me feel complete.
Now all I want to do is retreat.
I sit and remember for a while.
He used to always say the right things to make me smile.

I can remember his beautiful face.
It always meant so much when he took me in his embrace.
How long will these feeling of grief remain?
Has this angel come to break these chains?

A bright light shines and it is hard to see.
I know he has come to talk to me.
His wings are majestic and he has beauty beyond measure.
In my heart to see him is a pleasure.

I pray and it is peace that I seek.
Then the angel begins to speak.
“The Lord, your God, did not take him to cause you pain.”
“It’s not his will for your pain to remain.”

“He has sent me to tell you this.”
“He will bring you bliss.”
“It will be a happiness that you will not be able to contain.”
“Although your husband could not remain.”

“It is not his will for you to be in despair or to fear.”
“There is a reason for you to be here.”
“He has a work for you to do.”
“He wants you to love him and be true.”

“He wants you to love him with all your might.”
“Always keep him in your sight.”
“He wants you to share your story.”
“It will bring him glory.”

“Your walk with him is unique.”
“He will give you the words to speak.”
“Tell them of this day that I came.”
“Tell them that Gabriel is my name.”

“Let them know that I came to bring you peace.”
“I was sent to bring you sweet release.”
“Let them know how you are loved.”
“How you are loved by Jesus Christ who shed his blood.”

“Go child and give your testimony.”
“There will be some that think you are phoney.”
“There will be some that will believe.”
“Then Salvation they will receive.”

Then I realized that God meant this for good.
I will share my joy as I should.
I will tell them of this day.
I will tell them how Jesus made a way.
Finally I have peace within.
Now I can live again.
