Revelation

I’m not my own kind, but a unique human
I can’t settle for good, when I can be awesome
I have a smile that is charged and infectious
I dance with absolute abandon and joy
I’m a free soul with a charmed adulthood
I love my playful eyes, and a kind heart
Sometimes I don’t say great things, I like behaving stupid
Sometimes I’m petrified, terrified of disappointing
I respect your negations, can you safe keep my secrets?
You know it all, but can you accept my incongruous habit?
You ripped open a wound and gave me a shattered heart.
Being a girl is not my weakness, but I can’t match your beauty parameters
No one knows my emotional highs and lows
But I’m not made of titanium, neither are you
Respect me for my choices, I can be a Knight in shining armour
I’ll never stop loving me, because when you know, you can’t give up.

The poem certainly stands true to its claim of uniqueness and freedom by its non conformity to the idea of modesty (no self praise)and also non adherence to rhyme and meter. Beginning with celebrating oneself, you take the reader to the gory wounds of a shattered heart, ending on a high of unending love – that shining path of immortality. Please, do write some more… celebrating “Girl” strength.
