The Sea and its Sailors

The Sea and its Sailors short poem

Abandon, abandon the ship
There’s no one coming to save
Abandon, abandon the ship
Quick! escape your graves
Abandon, abandon the ship
She cried
Abandon, abandon the ship
The captain lied to you
Abandon, abandon the ship
There’s nothing left to do
Abandon, abandon the ship
She cried
Abandon, abandon they cried
Believing her silly lies
One by one they jumped
And threw their wretched stumps
Into her – Our hungry sea
Who cried
Abandon, abandon the ship.

The Sea

The Sea short poem

Time is on my side The waves roll on With the tide The winds are blowing A soft, subtle air This is what dreams are made of, They will always be there All I can see for miles around Is
