Molten Sighs

Drop by drop

The candle dies,

Its molten self

Drips with a sigh,

The bright flame above

Unaware of the ordeal

How with each moment

The pain the candle feels

As little winged creatures

Fly in for their death

Fluttering in ecstasy

Lay at the foot like a wreath.

The waxen pearls

The candle sheds as tears

Sadly awaiting its fate

Knowing the end is near

Ignorant the flame dances

Around the wick it flickers

A gust of wind rushes in

The candle dies with a shiver.
