Measure Of Time

Measure Of Time short poem

If Time is measured on those moments spent,
On instances we treasured, how it went,
While based on heartbeats that we often hear,
When to each other we have come so near,
Time seemed so fast, and gone before we know,
Too short for all the love we want to show;

But while to wait for anything to come,
The minutes drag on, till to hours become,
And all tomorrows stay unreachable,
If therein lie those words so lovable;
And why, it seems beyond eternity,
Before that sweet contracted kiss would lay.

I loved your poem and your question too. Time was measured by man to fit in with his own
sense of being.
But does animals have their conceptions of time? Well it is Spring and from what I see of the birds
I reckon they know its time. Sorry that was just a fun words this morning. It does not distract from your poem.
