Love, Wisdom, And Peace

Love, Wisdom, And Peace long poem

How wonderfully great it is to be human,
This phenomenal thinking godlike specie,
With the potential to explore the universe
Yet with intentions of being mostly sleazy.

Living in a garden of land, water, and sky,
A living vessel so intriguing and beauteous.
Capable of creating sustenance, all we need,
For creatures whose needs are superfluous.

We seem so afraid and unhappy with ourselves
That we create gods, demons, and all kinds of fairies:
Without ever taking into account that when dead,
We leave behind only history books and cemeteries.

We elect leaders who later turn into killers,
And Judges that punish killers by killing them.
Killing?! A punishment only humans can justify
Without sound evidence against those we condemn.

Living carelessly and ignorant towards nature,
That some chances of survival are close to none.
Throwing away plastic bottles into our oceans,
Enough to maybe even stretch around the sun.

Building pyramids and machines that even fly,
To the science of medicine until it cures.
Our intellect has so much damn potential
That a dog will lay his life down for yours.

What is it that we gain from destroying one another?
Let us put down our weapons, our greed, and our pride,
And find the true meaning of the word brother.

How long until we can open our eyes?
And begin to see with the utmost ease
That the most important values in life
Will always be love, wisdom, and peace.

Fail In Love

Fail In Love short poem

She was a traveling soul. The galaxy resting above her nose. I’d sit & stare. Wondering where the stars would go next. Both young & in love I let go. Tracing together swirls of color. The planets all together aligned.

Please take my hand, for I am blind. I’ve lost my path and my sense of touch. I’ve fallen, for my hands and feet are behind. Please let me hear, for all is in a hush. My wrist and ankles
