At Sixty

AT SIXTY
I approached SIXTY
I started behaving FUNKY
I thought life will be MESSY
I feared my brain to be EMPTY
I started thinking life will be SHODDY
I was deep into WORRY
I dreaded the fateful DAY
I Kept myself locked in the room QUIETLY
I was the person most UNHAPPY
I heard the phone ringing LOUDLY
I lifted the phone QUICKLY
I heard a sweet voice telling “grandpa HAPPY
BIRTH DAY”
I could not control the tears of JOY
I felt as if I returned back to TWENTY
I realized how stupid and SILLY
I was in unnecessarily getting PANICKY
I started receiving hundreds of CONGRATULATORY
Messages which I accepted GLADLY
I than realized that the age of SIXTY
Has brought me so much importance and I am EAGERLY
awaiting to complete my age of EIGHTY
To be followed by NINETY and ONE TWENTY!!

I really enjoyed reading this poem, I thought it to be written well and understandable. It gives an idea of what one would feel when they reach the age of 60. When I reach this age I will not be so anxious about it and realize its a great age to be.

Dear Ramapriya ji, a lovely poem, to reach 60 pause and look back, be happy that one took the journey so wonderfully and proceed. further……being proud that yes we made it till 60 and carry on with the journey of life, it is said age is a mind set but 60 is that age, where the human mind tends to look back re-living the life once again……..nevertheless it is said 60 is the youth of old age and 50 is the old age of youth………60, 70, 80 , 90 100, or 120 hardly matters what matters is living life to its fullest, living each day as it comes, being thankful to the one above us for HIS blessings……..nice poem, enjoyed every bit of it, awesome rhyming……….as usual

Sixty Years Lost

Sixty Years Lost short poem

You can lose a penny, or a special letter. A bill for the gas, or your red setter. Even where you placed your car, or the dog you tied to a forgotten gate. But to lose your mind, now that
