I And Not I

I And Not I short poem

I tried to flee away from my shadow
But my shadow chases me to be with me

I am afraid to tell the truth
But my conscious pricks me for not revealing the truth

I expect my friend to care for me
I would like to hate him for neglecting me

I would love to love my wife for ever
But her tantrums tells me love her never

I always think I am a perfectionist
But others think I am imperfect

I feel depressed for failing in love
She gets upbeat for rejecting my love

I feel I am a successful husband
She feels she is a neglected wife

I feel I am a great father
But they think they are unfortunate children

I feel I am a hero
They feel I am a zero

I am sure you appreciate this write up
You are sure you reject this trash

So interesting to use your shadow to mean so many people around you…to reveal a dichotomy which is there and yet not there !!

Savi Mani

Dear Ramapriya ji as usual a wonderful poem from you which gives the food for thought and leaves the reader spellbound with the hidden meaning, its a self analytic poem, you are “you” and still not “you” but the truth is “I” always remains “I”, one tries one’s best in life and its often not possible to make everyone happy but deep within your heart you know what you are and that gives the innermost happiness and satisfaction………to know you were true to your cause……….

Wonderful poem and equally awesome photograph ….the photograph itself says a lot……..regards

Perfectly said..our perceptions and others ideas might be totally different on the same subject!

To Be Or Not To Be short poem

It’s nights like these when I feel like an irony living within itself radiating love yet feeling unloved. It’s night like these when I can’t recognize what tomorrow holds or recall what yesterday held. I feel like an insect crawling
