When mired in jadedness
Or weary of Truth,
I sleep babe-like in your nakedness,
O bosom pal of my youth;
The nature of mothers in you
Suckling my sleep!
Or when dark empires above
Shut my mind,
I star-and-moon sketch the skies
I catch in your eyes!
And in your nakedness, find
Truth is Love!
Poet’s Notes:
Nakedness: symbol for truth, fidelity, purity and innocence, etc
Suckling my sleep: image of a mother breastfeeding a sleeping babe (note the onomatopoeic use of sibilants i.e. the repeated use of the letter s to simulate the sound of sleep.
Dark empires: metaphor for malicious forces above or beyond our control

A nice one
Thank you, Ramapriya Nr! I think you understand very well that symbolically, ‘nakedness’ in this poem refers to the personal and private truths or trust lovers share with one another. I like the picture of you standing by your wife – it is a reflection of the truth and trust I was just talking about!
Good carved expressions.intense..
Thank you Himaja! Here’s a poem for you; thank you for reading:
Transmigrated Monkey-Man
World and Time, you monkeyed
Me into a decrepit and cold-moneyed
Ape –
How, transmigrated old babe,
I grow distantly hard as a nail
And thereby hangs the tail-end of my tale:
Fate –
Hangs me upon a use-by date;
World! I grimace you goodbye!
Now as I lay me down to infinitely die,
Time –
Monkey me not into another hateful clime!
