Answers short poem

Went looking down the watery path
Leaves discarded, travel to a new heaven and
Metallic green of mallard neck
Catches my eye; what is this?
The canal is split after the lock
A weir takes the heavy current
Sends an off-shoot, a tributary – no
Tribute is not something that I …
What is this?
Quacks repeat their diagnosis
No doubt then, its terminal, gonna happen
Old age does they say, and
They are correct; we are all mere walkers
Towards the light, or dark, or …
What is this?
it is
a swollen river flowing fast
a duck seeking other ducks
for friendship, fun and
long term relationships
it is
knowing the place where I sit silent
and write such words as these is not
remotely still; it is movement
it is syllabic dabs, it is cacophony
it is
life in all its glory and decrepitude
love sweet, frustration great
but never actual hate
it is
more questions than answers
it is me
Down the watery path, going somewhere
Journeying with and against the flow
Conversing and contradicting Nature
Trying to outlive Destiny
It is why a human is called
