I Am Anne

I Am Anne short poem

Someday while sitting at my table,
I’d love to meet Anne of Green Gables,
Then My Eight Cousins she would meet,
They’re lots of fun and kind and sweet.

But I have cousins by the dozens,
Their chatter sounds like bees a buzzin,
But these eight all have a friend,
They call him Huckleberry Finn.

But Huck has His Dark Materials,
They’re a Trilogy of sorts,
If I told you about it,
It might make you grow warts.

I love to laugh, I love to sing,
Read poems by Rudyard Kipling,
That’s who I am; I’m just a girl,
I welcome you into my world.
