Borrowed Angel

Borrowed Angel ballad

It came without warning, no early whisper of fate
Your body released you, there must be some mistake

In the fury of loss, the mind and the heart are enemies
Silent screams steer the wreckage on the forbidden quest for mercy

We stumble and fall amidst the anger and doubt
The mind fears the certainty of what the heart can’t live without

The tears will soon fall, carving their path to the soul
A desperate plea to the heavens to hold you once more

In dreams our plea is answered, our minds grant the gift of memory
Our hearts are now nourished, no longer the minds enemy

In time we will make peace with the keeper of the stars
Celebrate timeless love, for you are the rhythmic beating of our hearts

We know the journey never ends, but your time on earth has come
For the master of our fate called our borrowed angel home

Beautifully put, Natalie! When we lose someone dear and precious, it is lovely to think that God has borrowed an angel. God Bless You.!
