The Listener’s Initiation

The Listeners Initiation sonnet poems

Rhythm and Rhyme reach the Listener.
Put him behind bars and begin to beat.
Thoughts of escape, a tortured prisoner,
he resists and is met by quick defeat.
Possessed by Flow, with no exorcism,
he is stabbed with a double entendre.
As Rap rips ludicrous lyricism,
Verse begins to freestyle its mantra.
They spit at him, delivering message,
while reaching the end of what he can take.
Rap shows there’s mercy in passage,
Rhythmically rhyming verses till he breaks.
Released by Rap, the Listener can breathe.
Set free, but he decides never to leave.
