Coward short poem

Many a times I came back from the line of control
They took the road of fear and crossed the enemy camp
I tried to find peace in counting stars
The day you put out the fire in fear of getting caught
I smelled gunpowder on that night too
They held their breath, they waited night long… to strike before the dawn
I crossed the border before the black smoke of their cannon covered the morning
I can never take my coward face off even today
I wish if I could take off the bayonet from the rifle…
