A Longing Tone

A Longing Tone short poem

Let me sail across the seas to her land,
Or let me fly on clouds that hover over her.
Let me drive through the winds that carry her voice,
Or let me breathe her scent in the breeze.
Let me wander the paths where her laughs linger,
Or let me feel the soil colored by her skin.
Let us sit abutting each other on a bench,
Or let us run abreast in sweat and dirt.
Let the walls listen to our joy and resound,
Or let the air tap into our intimate chat.
Find my room on her lap and the warmth in her touch.
The shade in her hair and the comfort in her words.
The pleasure in her giggle and the music in her voice.
My destiny in her eyes and my life in her presence.
Rewind time until I find my adolescence.
