Deception short poem

You know how it feels? To be cheated in love
By someone so close, someone so dear
Who’s there in each thought, in every breath of life
So much trusted and looked up to –
Share joys wholeheartedly
And to weep on his shoulder when glum
Cared so much for that it hurts me to see him hurt
To proudly declare him as my sojourner to all
To take pride in his achievements and –
With love so immaculate and trust so deep
To take in stride all his silly mistakes
And to laugh it off when he chides
To caress and pamper him and feel complete
And to see such trust breakdown
Crumble and vanish, yet with a faint hope
That he will return someday, a changed man
Fighting all that which says it will never happen
And waiting for that miracle to hue my life again
As I endeavor to dream
Of our good times together –
They prod me to live life with hope and faith
That all will be well soon, very soon.
