Elegy For My Past

Elegy For My Past elegy

Usually the moon is watching
But no light greets me now
Please remember me for my thoughts
Not my animation.

Father can you remember happiness?
Am I a manifestation of anger?

Mother do you feel hurt?
What is behind the cold?
Is there fear?
Are there scars?

I was more of a writer
Could not find my place.
Pen to paper was my solace.
Content I am.

I hope you are proud.
The man I became is the man I am.
You might not have understood
But I hope you find appreciation.

I am ashamed of the world I’m leaving
Feel no worry of past days.
I will miss the faces of you
For whom I have hurt.

I cannot ask for forgiveness
Earth is wrapped around me.
I thought it would be cold and bitter
But I’m surprised with warmth and comfort.
