Love Sonnet 22

Love Sonnet 22 sonnet poems

How soon Persephone would say goodbye,
And leave her mantle, white upon the ground?
My heart seeks not to know, nor reasons why,
But makes the most while she is still around;
How soon will friendly stars all disappear,
When all their glow, would I then start to miss,
How soon until Goodnights would  cease to hear
Your sigh which dignifies a stolen kiss;
When dreams wither in nights that last too long,
When pale nightscapes are oft devoid of moon,
When songbirds roost unheard, wanting a song,
Till trees undress for sleep, that is how soon?
……Could Cronus modify Springtime to last?
……Though he seems just a figment of the past?

♪ ♫ Well, I guess, it could be said that if my knowledge and wisdom were converted to wealth, I may humbly say, in all honesty, that I am not a millionaire. But if out of my two cents, you would agree to accept one of it, then, I could proudly say, in all modesty, that I have done charity.♥

Beautifully wrought and the references to the characters of Greek mythology are wonderful and so aptly used. Brilliant writing!
