From The Sea Shore

From The Sea Shore short poem

From the sea shore,
I picked an empty bottle
No, I didn’t find the useless letter
No, I didn’t find the note
what I found was emptiness
what I met with was just an empty space…

From the sea shore
I picked up empty cans
No I didn’t find the ring
No i didn’t find any note
what I found was deep intriguing smell of perfume
how did it not lose the fragrance while swimming…?

From the sea shore
I picked up a sea shell
No it didn’t make sound waves
No it didn’t have snails
what it had was just mere silence
What it had was just quiet calling…

From the sea shore
I happened to meet three kids
No they didn’t seem to be millionaires
No they didn’t seem to be poverty stricken
What I found was a genuine smile
what I found was a contagious laugh
For few minutes, that made me forget the world outside
For few minutes, that made me shrug off the turmoil inside

I was in a trance, it seemed, lost in the laughter and the sea
Until a tear rolled down my cheek,
and I realised all along it was just me…

How do I talk about the empty bottle and the cans?
How do I connect the children, money and no money?
How do I space out the inner and outer world?
How do I explain the trance, the void?
How do I….? The tear and me?
How do I?

Sitting by the seashore sometimes one see’s the light, the light that all understanding, all “God”, all world, everything, is just within, its our own doing, our own thought, our own choice, our own will.

Everything we know, or think we know, comes from an infinitesimal speck of time and space. “Important” people, just random specks of insignificance. Nothing more than Sea Monkeys, fluttering around Sea Monkey world. Everything spoken as truth only reinforces ignorance.
