Nobody’s Fool

Nobodys Fool ballad

Will I ever be your one and only, will I ever mean that much to you
I know she broke your heart, tore your dreams apart, but you’re nobody’s fool

You say she left you without warning, but we both know that’s not true
She walked away slowly, along the way bending love’s every rule

She didn’t feel your tender heart, your kind eyes she didn’t see
She stood on the edge of goodbye, like a bird that must soar free

You say she doesn’t cross your mind, she holds no place in your heart
Last night you whispered her name; tormented dreams find you in the dark

What will it take to let go and leave the ashes where they burned
Her memory cuts you like a knife, its jagged edge you twist and turn

Don’t miss the love standing before you; don’t let the past take hold
We have all loved and lost, there is always a story to be told

So when you look into my eyes, see the love I have to give
It is yours completely, let your mind forget and your heart forgive

…..will I ever be your one and only, will I ever mean that much to you
I won’t break your heart or tear your dreams apart, but I’m nobody’s fool

The wise man, and the fool. shall never agree, For the fool, thinks himself, to be wiser than he. Yet the wise man knows, not all that is taught, And the fool thinks, wisdom, can be bought. And the fool
