Reckless Words

Reckless Words ballad

The hardest thing I have ever done was say goodbye to you
Reckless words spoken, a desperate act of an unknowing fool

Time doesn’t heal all wounds, only those of flesh and bone
A broken heart will easily shatter, no respite for the fragile one

Memories can haunt you and also be your saving grace
Sometimes I wish they’d vanish and then pray they never fade

There are days I think we will find our way back to what we were back then
Young lovers full of hopes and dreams, then the truth breaks me once again

True love lasts forever they say, but that offers no reprieve
Who am I without you, is this misery my destiny?

Sorry is just a simple word, but its power can end all wars
We are not born with cruel intentions, but yet we choose to keep score

If I only said I am sorry, relinquished the layers of stubborn pride
I wouldn’t know this misery, but in haste I chose to say goodbye

Reckless words spoken, a desperate act of an unknowing fool
The hardest lesson I have ever learned is when I said goodbye to you

Those Unsaid Words

Those Unsaid Words short poem

I learned to hold all my feelings inside until late at night. I covered my mouth with my hands so that no one could hear my tears. I perfected my fake smile. Today, after so many days, painfully enough, but
