Places To Go

Places To Go short poem

I’ve places to go
And things to do.
If you have the time
I will talk with you.

I can’t slow down
Time moves too fast.
I’m heading to the future
I’ve no time for the past.

Old folks sitting, swinging,
Talking about what use to be.
I would like to stop and visit
But there is a world I want to se.
Just sit and wait, slowly
Life will pass you by.
But get out and about
And life will seem to fly.

Get up and dance.
Every day’s a new friend.
Look where you are going,
Not where you have been.

I’ve aches and pains
Some days I really hurt.
but I’m not slowing down
Until they cover me with dirt.

When they carry my casket
I want them to say,
My world is so much darker now,
His songs lit up my day.

Poet’s Note
As a lady said in her poem, when you are born you start to die.  Don’t wait for it but be a thorn in deaths side and enjoy life.
