I long to be little

I long to be little short poem

A giggle here a giggle there,

Wish I was little again,

Would have cared less,

About the strain and the pain

Built castles in the sand,

And waited for waves to erase,

Would have ambled off in greens,

Been lost and found in the maze

Played whispering games softly,

Without the fear of guarding secrets,

Scribbled names and erased them,

Without offense or any regrets.

A little dew would have sprinkled,

When fallen and hurt,

The heart would still be radiant,

Without the stains of dirt

Would have been so naive,

To the world’s predicament,

Wounds would have healed easily,

With time, without much lament

The seething pain of betrayal,

Would never have severed me,

Craft me little again my God,

And possess me again completely.
