Our First Encounter

Our First Encounter short poem

You commend me for my boldness, but it is I who commend you for taking the chance towards your future.

I will show you a world you have not yet seen or could imagine, for through my eyes you will see yourself in a brighter light.

Allowing me to fill an emptiness. What was once broken will now become whole!

We live different lives, walk different paths but one thing we share is our search for true love, passion, compassion, honesty and most of all trust.

There were once those around us who didn’t have the courage or patience to hold on but for good reason I say.

Because this now is right, it feels right. A feeling that I nor you want to lose.

What do we have to lose? That is my question.

Nothing but ourselves in each others arms, our words. Committing to one another.

To become whole again. Laying side by side, reaching our arms out to one who isn’t afraid anymore.

Passion ignites in seconds.
